Profile of the Day: Levi Strauss
On May 20, 1873 Levi Strauss and his partner, tailor Jacob Davis, received the patent for blue jeans. Targeted toward California Gold Rush minors, these work pants were reinforced with metal rivets to make them stronger and more durable. Today, the Levi’s brand of jeans is one of the most popular in the world.
