I have placed a couple of ref.s on her profile but I found more and will place those also as soon as I can transcribe them.

In the 'About me of John Pearce of Rhode Island
It shows
'John married first Mary Hawfield in Dorchester, MA in 1638. John married second Rebecca (?) Wheeler (widow of Thomas Wheeler) 08/10/1654.'

It does not show he was married to our Mary Pearce

I have place another ref. on her profile which states that a un-named sister married Israel Shaw. And as Mary Pearce was mentioned in his will separately as was Israel Shaw, I would say the profiles are not the same and that the name listed with Israel Shaw is not correct as Mary Tallman unless Peter had two dau. named Mary, which it does not list.

1709, May 3. Administration having been given to Jonathan Tallman, he took acquittances, at this date, from his brothers and sisters, William Wilbur, Israel Shaw, Jonathan Tallman, James Tallman, Benjamin Tallman, ''''''Mary Pearce'''''', Susanna Beckett, Peter Tallman, Isaac Lawton, William Potter, John Tallman, Joseph Tallman and Samuel Tallman.
Peter Tallman, Sr., married, first, Ann ___ ; second, 1665, Joan Briggs, who died about 1685; third, about 1686, Esther ___ who died before 1708. Issue
2 Mary Tallman married John Pearce
13 Daughter married Israel Shaw

OH MY GOODNESS,
Sorry I did not look at John Pearce's Profile, from the dates that are listed it follows the John Pearce that married Mary Tallman, it could be than he has been merged with another John Pearce that had these other wives, my personal listing only shows the wife Mary Tallman.

I will look through the Pearce's to see about the connections of a John Pearce with these other women, if they are different or the same.

As to the question of Mary Tallman, she was married to this John Pearce with these dates, at least that is what I had entered and what the Pearce Genealogy lists.
She did not marry Israel Shaw.

DO YOU WANT ME TO TAKE CARE OF THIS?

There are two John's that have been merged. A new Profile for one will need to be made. I would suggust the John, son of Richard Pearce b. 1590 & Martha (__), who married Rebecca and Mary. Since the Profile for John is correct with parents Richard & Susannah and wife Mary Tallman. We may find another Proflle for this John since they are of the same family, connected elsewhere in the line. I will check.

I could find no information for Mary Hawfield. And we don't have to worry now about a wife Parnell since there is not one connected at this time.

The John Pearce who married 2nd Rebecca Wheeler (widow of Thomas Wheeler) also had 1st wife Mary (Unknown) July 12, 1647. The above John, died Sept. 17, 1651, (sometimes he is also listed with a wife Parnell who died Sept., 1639 but I have seen references to this being due to John's being confounded, so I should list three John's separately along with a listing that has the John with the 3 wives) so we place the children. He resided in Dorchester, had children: Nehemiah d. 1691; Samuel ; Mehitable ; Mary ; Marcy ; and Exercise. He is the brother of Richard Pearce who m. Susannah Wright, their father is Richard Pearce b. 1590 m. Martha (__).

These two Profiles are done, with the correct children. More work will be needed on the surrounding profiles of John Pearce's siblings and possible other wrong connections in the surrounding family.

Thanks, Carole! I had just wandered into this area, as I recall, by just looking at some of the older Tree Conflicts among "my collaborators" (collaboration pool). After a bit of looking, I knew a few of the profiles didn't look quite consistent, and thus started "pulling at threads" by asking about what seemed to be one of the key profiles that I was finding inconsistencies around at other sites & references -- that "Mary Pearce (Tallman)".

Unless we can find some concrete references her father Peter Tallman is stuck with two sets of Parents, Peter Talemann (of Antwerpen, Belgium) and Maria Von Peene (of Haarlem, Holland) also Henry and Anna Tallman (of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany).
