Carol Barnes is looking for the parentage of Andries Johannes du Plessis born 26 August 1836 Died 22 March 1896 - married to Sophia Johanna Swanepoel.

In South African Genealogies Volume 8 pages143 there is a g5 Andries Johannes du Plessis with no dates - father b1c7d4e5 Andries Stephanus = 1 9 1799 Tulbagh and Maria Hendrina Beyers - married 6 1 1831

BUT on page 145 she is also given as the wife of Andries Johannes du Plessis b1c7d5e6f2 !!!

Hendrik duPlessis and his relatives had done a lot of research on the duPLessis family. It's quicker for me to alert him on our FB page, because he's more active there, http://www.facebook.com/groups/243811932355680/
but I think he's still on Geni as a non-pro user.
Carol - can you try and follow him up, and see if he can help?.

goodness have heard not a word about the dear ancestor tried to connect with Hendrik on his fb but could not manage it just his web writting or something? Sharon could i ask you an unrelated question - do you have any idea were the family bibles that were at the Pietermaritzburg, i think the voortrekker one would be located now? The Martens side always had their bible there but they cannot locate and not sure if all these have? been moved to another museuem - any clues i could follow? ta so much
