That usually means that she had two husbands.
I see under revisions that see was merged with Heyltje de Beer.
I will have to look into the de Beer book. I have it.

so b6c1 was incorrectly merged with b5c1.
Both nearly the same names but different persons, different names, both married to a Pretorius. Different date of births.
That is why we always have to make absolutely sure of the names.
I can see what happend here.Logical it is:
There was a merge or match and only the first names were nearly the same and the husbands so they were merged. That is why I prefer all names in the 1st field.
Who wants to fix it?
I can't as the stitches were not taken out yet, as there are too m uch fluid and I am busy with other lines.

just 1 more point. That is just what happened in the Marais and Potgieter trees many times. June and Daan can also tell you that.
Two Marais brothes married to two Rossouw sisters - children with same names, married different people with same names and they get merged.

It appears there was some confusion here also between the Hilletje Magdalena de Beer and the Heyla Magdalena de Beers. I understand that these can easily be assumed but these are actually different on the baptism documents and the Heyla is actually Heyla and the Hilletje just that.

In total there appears to be 6 different versions of this name, but this is sometimes wrongly used.

Heyla M de beer ~1789 was married to Greivenstein "Grefenstein" ~1769

HIlletje M 1779 was married to Robberts

Thank you Lional. I'm going to let Judi & Donovan use the info, in case too many cooks spoil the broth. It definitely looks to me like an area that needs MPs, Curator Notes and naming fields locked to prevent mismerges.

Is the Hilletjie name option on this profile problematic?.

vgl means vergelyk (compare). The author is warning that there is some duplication/confusion and is asking you to compare the same name attached to the given surnames.

In DP page 107 we have b6c10 Gideon Brits x 10.5.1787 Hilletje Magdalena de Beer , Wed. van Petrus Pretorius.

I put in a request to under the merge so you should wait until that is done before doing anything surely?

Bear in mind that b5c1 and b6c1 are different persons with the same name who marry a pretorius also different.

That is why is was un-merged - so that it could be carefully done - correctly! So hope you guys can do that!
