I've just recently came across this connection in my family tree and noticed several people that I am connected to by way of one or two other paths are also following him and wondered how many of us might be.
He is my 10th great grandfather.

Edwin Sandys, Archbishop of York

Roger, I think we can confirm we have (at least) 2 lines in common - this one & the Archbishop.

Edwin Sandys is my 10th great grandfather through Henry, his son.

Richard de Beaumont, Esquire is my husband's 14th great grandfather.

Roger Jacobs We are related thru several people:
• As I said above, Edwin Sandys is my 10th ggf
• Richard de Beaumont is my 3rd cousin 17x's removed
• James Sands was born in 1662 and is the son of Capt James Sands who was my 7th ggf
@Erica we also have several connections, but we are connected (in a rather convoluted manner) as he is my 1st cousin 4x's removed's wife's first cousin once removed's wife's fifth ggf.
@Carol Rose Patterson we are also connected: 9th cousins thru Capt James Sands...

It truly is a Small, Small World!!!

I'm wondering about the numbering of his name. Geni says he is John Savage V, but the War of the Roses Catalogue says he is John II. Are they a reliable source?

Sir John Savage V, K.B., K.G.

Probably it’s a more reliable source. The “dynastic” Number V looks more like keeping the John Savages in order.
