Lizette Buitendag has alerted us to the fact that, at present, Julien de Savoye's date of death is 10 years before the birth of his last child. Jean de Savoye

Now there's something odd with the dates on the son's About, which says:
'Jeanne DUREAU(DURIEAU) Christened 30 May 1611 Aeth, Hainant, België
Spouse - Julien DE SAVOYE, c. 26 Oct 1602, Ath, Province Henegouwe In Spanish Netherlands , [Death:1636 (34)]
Married 23 Sep 1631 Aeth, Hainant, België

Children
Jacques DE SAVOYE, b. 1610, Aeth, France ,
Jacques DE SAVOYE, progenitor, b. 1636, Aeth, Hainant, France , d. 8 Oct 1717, Cape Town, Cape, South Africa
Gillette DE SAVOYE, c. 5 Feb 1633, Aeth, Hainant, België ,
Jean DE SAVOYE, c. 22 Apr 1646, Aeth, Hainant, België , d. 5 Jan 1692, Leiden, Zuid Holland, Nederland

The first of the kids is born when his Dad was 8 and before his Mom was christened; and the last of the kids is born after his Dad's death.

Danie Viljoen - can you take a look and tell us what you think?
Anyone else who wants to help research and validate - please jump in and help. Post thoughts and finds here.

(I'm still tryng to finish the Descent list Project for the abaThembu; and the Ascent list Project for Charlemagne - so it's going to be awhile before I can get to this.)

This is his supposed first child: Jacques de Savoye - born when his Dad was 8 and before his Mom was christened

I'm wondering if this isn't still a leftover of a merge mashup that occurred here: http://www.geni.com/discussions/125995?msg=998406 between Jeanne van der Zee/de la Mere and her daughter in law Jeanne Dureau.
(If so - then this link http://www.greeff.info/tng01/getperson.php?personID=I59908&... got it wrong too.)

That would make Jacques de Savoye b. 1610, Aeth, France more likely to be the brother of Julien de Savoye, (c 26 Oct 1602 -1636) - which Lizette suggested;

but it still leaves us with the puzzle of the posthumous child - Jean de Savoye b c1646

It would help if we could track primary sources for Julien's 1636 death date or Jean's 1646 birtn date.

I've noticed some sources for him on Ancestry if anybody can look at it, it may help solve the puzzle.

Hello Sharon,

I have resources for Jacques birthdate and date of death, birthdate for Gillette, however no data on Jean.
Thank you for taking this task on.

John Dinkelmann that's fantastic! Can you add them here or on the profile?

Jean de Savoye is still born years after the death of his father Julien de Savoye

It would help if we could track primary sources for Julien's 1636 death date or Jean's 1646 birth date.

Anyone?
