Is there the possibility that two Thomas Bancroft's have been confused here?

References seem to point to there being two.

One being born Dec. 14, 1626 Derbyshire, England son of Jane (Bonython) & John Bancroft, dying 1684 Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts having married 1st Margaret Wright & 2nd Hannah

The other being born Feb. 10, 1622 London, England son of Ann & John Bancroft, dying Aug. 19, 1691 Lynnfield, Essex County, Massachusetts having married 1st Alice Bacon & 2nd Elizabeth Metcalf

/this question of 2 Thomas Bancrofts is exactly mine! My ancestor Thomas Bancroft married Alice Bacon who died (probably in childbirth) and then Elizabeth Metcalf. When and how did he arrive in the Colonies? Any thoughts/leads? Thanks

Thomas Bancroft of Dedham and Reading - parents unknown. Married 1) Alice Bancroft 2) Elizabeth Bancroft

Not the same as Thomas Bancroft of Enfield son of John Bancroft & his wife. Married 1) Margaret Bancroft 2) Hannah Barber

It is not clear where / when John Bancroft died. His wife was not Jane Boynthon and her name(s) uncertain. Ann Bancroft

There were two Thomas Bancrofts - one of Lynn, MA and another of Springfield MA & Enfield CT. The first Thomas of Lynn married Alice Bacon & 2nd Elizabeth Metcalf. The second Thomas married first Margaret Wright and 2nd Hannah (possibly Gardner).

According to "Data concerning the families of Bancroft, Bradstreet, Browne, Dudley, Emerson, Gamble, Goodridge, Gould, Hartshorne, Hobson, Kemp, Kendall, Metcalf, Nichols, Parker, Poole, Sawtell, Wainwright, Woodman, etc. in England and America, 1277 to 1906 A.D.",
~ the Thomas Bancroft of Lynn, MA who married Alice Bacon and 2nd Elizabeth Metcalf is the son of Ralph Bancroft (brother of John Bancroft d. 1637). This makes Thomas Bancroft of Lynn, MA a cousin to Thomas Bancroft who died at Springfield, MA.
