According to conventional genealogists it is:
Kabakoff/Krieger/Vigoda — tavern keeper.

However our surname, I believe, stems from either one of these 2 locales in Poland.

I so contend because our earliest ancestor's brother, Sharaga Feivesh was born in that region.

Hopefully, we can visit the remnants of those town someday and discover more.

Did you want this also as a Family Discussion - and/or tagged to one or more Profiles?
Or really as a Public Discussion unlikely to be seen by Family? (Or am I missing something?)

Sorry, this was meant for family. I've never really used geni before intensely until recently.

Tzvi (Hershel) Vigoda
The other reason I believe it is related to the Polish township is because a slight alternate surname I have seen appended to Chazzan Cantor Samuel Vigoda ; Vigoder וויגאדער
Which translates literally to "from Wygoda".
