Henry was the son of William Arnold who was born about 1700, and Elizabeth, but she was not Elizabeth Noell. You have skipped a generation. This Elizabeth, b1767, married William, Jr., born about 1764 - d1849, Wilson Co., TN. They were married 17 Aug. 1787, Halifax Co., VA. (Source: Marriage Bonds and Minister Returns of Halifax, County, Virginia 1753-1800). Henry, born before 1731, was in fact the uncle of this William.

There is no "Stokes, Pitt County, North Carolina". Those are two different counties, one is in Northwest North Carolina and the other near the coast in eastern North Carolina. The date for the Henry Arnold in Pitt, with quite a few young children, even though he would have been 85, makes it unlikely this is the same Henrry Arnold. We find Henry in Surry, NC in the 1780s. We find his son Henry Jr in Stokes (which was formed from Surry), but the 1780s are the last real record we have of this Henry that i have found. Finally, the 1731 record you have here is probably a different Henry Arnold. This Henry born c 1727 in Cumberland, VA. - - And William Arnold 1700s wife was Elizabeth Bostick (Bostick is near proven but not 100 percent. It is proven she was not Noel.)
