Sarah Elizabeth Joyner (Edwards) - OK, people, who *is* she?

The dates *do not work* for her to be the daughter of Robert Edwards and Mary Hunt - especially since she is so *far* out of line with her "siblings" (who are, moreover, all over the lot from twenty to fifty years younger).

She is also NOT the same person as Elizabeth Robins Burgess, of Accomack/Northampton, Virginia, and Anne Arundel, Maryland. That Elizabeth was imported to Maryland by her stepfather, George Puddington; she married Col. William Burgess and ONLY Col. Burgess; and she gave him two sons and then died before 1660, while the Col. married twice more.

Double first names, or first and middle names, were with a few simple exceptions (e.g. Mary Ann, Sarah Jane) were Not A Thing at this time.

I agree with Maven's post from 2017. I've been looking at the connections and Find-a-Grave has the wife of Thomas Joyner as Sarah Edwards:

The numbering of the Thomas Joyners is different, having Sarah married to Thomas II and her son being Thomas III but it's easy to use the names of the other children to identify the correct Thomas she is married to.

Find-a-Grave seems to have made the problem of the dates with her parents being Robert Edwards and Mary Hunt disappear by leaving off any birthdates for them.

Find-a-Grave and Ancestry trees have Mary Hunt having married Robert Edwards and William Boddie, NOT having been born a Boddie herself:

I've attached a document under the Media tab where some of these connections are discussed and the conclusion was that Mary, wife of William Boddie, was the widow of Robert Edwards.

I realize that doesn't answer all the questions but does shed a bit more light on the connections.

I believe this sister:

Sarah Elizabeth Hadley

is the Sarah (Edwards) Joyner who was married to Thomas Joyner. She is listed with the married name Hadley but no husband or children are attached to her.

I believe she is the daughter listed on this page:

Robert and Mary (Hunt) Edwards had 5 children and they were:

1. Judith Edwards (m. 1st., Thomas Harris and 2nd. unk. Clark)
2. Margaret Edwards
3. Sarah "Sallie" Edwards (m. Thomas Joyner, II)
4. Mary Edwards (m. James Bragg)
5. William Edwards (m. Ann Mansfield)

which also lists the Mary (Edwards) Bragg referenced in the document I attached under the Media tab.

It seems fairly easy to sort it all out with the Find-a-Grave pages and the document under the Media tab.
