There's no documentation that he exists... He exists, apparently there is another Trader that goes by the same name...
Trader James - Trader David
Both are the same man.
Trader James is not Trader James Dougherty.
The only Dougherty is Cornelius Doughtery as per this list circa 1750 to circa 1754.

They are being really picky over Cherokee records... getting the fake profiles / master profiles out of the wood-pile... You have to prove it by going around them and making them eat crow so they'll link the right people to the master profile -- if they don't then screw that and I just add them to my tree on Ancestry. And forget GENI.
Erica Howton Erica, can we please revisit this Trader McDaniel? As I have stated, I have DNA and tree matches (Ancestry calls them Shared Ancestor Hints--not as in a leaf or a "possible" ancestor but a real match. I am all about the DNA and care not a bit about the "Moytoy" aspect.

This match has John Dickinson as well as William John Field & Elizabeth Jane Powell....These are NOT names I have placed in any tree...they are from AncestryDNA matching...new

It will hold. I have no smoking gun document. Just e v e r y day a NEW DNA match for a descendant who claims the same as I was told i have
It will keep..
Eventually, the DNA will speak so loudly, folks will forget every City Hall fire that ever consumed a document.
In the meantime, thank you, sincerely, for the reply and the offer of assistance.

Ancestry does not have a Chromosome Browser, so it is impossible to prove anything about your Matches at Ancestry.
If you share DNA with someone, and your Trees show a common Ancestor - maybe that is how you are related, or maybe it is just a coincidence.
Perhaps you and they upload to GEDMatch, then use the Chromosome Browser there to confirm that all or several of you actually share the same Ancestor?
Thank you for your input. Yes would be NICE if Ancestry would concede and give their paying customers/clients a chromosome browser...such petitions and requests have been outstanding and unanswered.....in the meantime, gedmatch is a wonderful thing as is Geni...hand in hand, with collaborators at Adventurers on Facebook, I have been avle to confirm MANY matches. DNApainter as well, has played a very important role along with the numbers I gleen from MyHeritage and FamilytreeDNA and DNAland and and and you name it :)
Lois, were you to match me, say, on a Honeycutt family line, I DARE say I would know it. Are you a McDaniel? A Daniel? An Emerson? What is your gedmatch? At any rate, thank you for your input and suggestions. I should add my numbers to my profile here as I have on Ancestry.
By the way, CODIS is now a factor and Ancestry is actually TELLING people WHO their MRCA is. Nice, huh?
