I have done some research on Moses Foster of Chelmsford and Ashburnham, Massachusetts (1692-1785) and Moses Foster of Ipswich, Massachusetts (1697-1785). I have summarized this research in two blog posts: "Deacon Moses Foster (1692-1785)" (https://brown-snel-family.blogspot.com/2018/05/deacon-moses-foster-...) and "Which Moses Foster?" (https://brown-snel-family.blogspot.com/2018/05/which-moses-foster_5...). I am hoping this research will provide a basis for separating the profiles of the two Moses Fosters on Geni.com.

Does anyone have suggestions as to how such a separation can be accomplished?

I really apologize for the late reply. I didn’t see this until today.

Using your wonderful blogs and the project, https://www.geni.com/projects/Two-Moses-Fosters/47933, I believe I have the “two Moses Fosters” separated.

Here’s your guy:

Moses Foster, of Chelmsford & Ashburnham & his wife Mary Foster

A little more work is needed on the Ipswich line.

We’ve finished the Ipswich family, so I’m going ahead and applying field locks. Any curator can update locked fields as need be.

There’s a point you made in your research notes I find significant, and a great point.

You wrote:

How do we know that the Moses Foster who settled in Dorchester Canada (later Ashburnham) was not the Moses Foster from Ipswich? This can be demonstrated by means of their children.

Which is a reason we work “bottom up” and location centric.
