So excited to say that I recently found a old document of an executor or administrator of a will of Francis Johnson's Jr b. 1644' of Marblehead. he had to have died sometime abt 1717 . The date is 1717 on the will. Francis's grandson is mentioned as a Executor of Administrator of his grandfather's will. His daughter Ruth Sergeant-Barry was apparently already married to John Barry of Boston, the Tanner. They m. in 1713. Thomas Sergeant died in 1711 and is buried at Copps hill. She signed the will also @ the bottom. I could have jumped for joy! The Doc says he was of Marblehead . This was definitely not the SR Francis Johnson as he died in Boston in 1690 and his daughter Elizabeth McKarty,/Mc Carty, Wife of Thaddeus McKarty was named Executor of Sr's estate! . There was also a Richard Johnson's signature at the bottom, and I do not know who that is. Perhaps Mary Johnson and Ruth Johnson had another sibling, that I never knew about and was undocumented until now? To my knowledge Francis SR had no children by the name of Richard or siblings..But I will keep studying this closely!! What a find for me, as I have looked for Francis Jr's death all these years. Wish i knew if he died @ Fort Pemaquid? Liby, Noyes and Davis thought he died there during the Indian attacks..

Ruth (Johnson) Sergeant Barry signed the probate of Francis Johnson Jr (her father) in 1717,(Ancestry, and American Ancestors) source records) along with her nephew Thomas Wardin in Essex Co Court Records) . So as far as I can see. Francis Johnson Jr. b. 1644 and baptised @ Salem (CR) Died in Marblehead, after spending many years in Maine. Papers were signed there.I have no idea where he died and was buried

The authors in the book Genealogical Records of Maiine & New Hampshire thought Francis the Jr died in Indian Attacks in Muscongus or near the Ft Pemaquid area. Apparently he must have died in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Anyone wanting copies of these. Let me know @ my email Address. I believe many historians got the two Francis Johnsons's confused as the Sr was in Boston later with his 2nd wife Hannah (Souther) Hanbury(widow of William Hanbury), and the eldest daughter Elizabeth (Johnson) McCarty Administered The Sr's estate.
