Some folks are claiming she was of indigenous origins through someone called Ebbone.

How did a woman born in Virginia have parents who lived in Connecticut? Francis Bell in Connecticut is well documented, his wife was named Rebecca any Native American connection for her is a complete myth. This couple has nothing to do with the woman in Virginia. A woman named Rebecca Bell married a man named James Martin in New Kent County, Virginia in 1701. If this is the Rebecca supposedly born in 1655 it's probable that James was a second husband and her maiden name was not Bell. A first marriage for a woman in her forties at that time was very unlikely!

Somebody mash-merged two different Rebeccas, maybe? Happens a lot when researchers get careless.

Can't help with the Virginia Rebecca, since she didn't live in Accomack/Northampton. Unfortunately.
