good grief - Robert Thomas Nixon provided a college education for all of his children, he sold land when he needed the tuition, still owned over 14,000 acres of land when he died. He was a son of a Quaker, hard-working, family-oriented, Christian man. I feel lazy compared to what they accomplished over their lifetime. To think I thought I had my hands full with just three children, educating them, etc. We can appreciate and learn something from researching our lineage.

During a visit to the Old Nixon Cemetery, my Dad told me that Capt. Nixon (his great grandfather) named all of his sons for US Presidents. I haven't looked at all the names to verify that, but that's what he told me.

I grew up steeped in the Nixon tradition and history, spending quite a bit of time at Beulah's with most of my great aunts and uncles around. Often on the porch of the Wood home on Darst Field Road.

I agree, we have some role model ancestors!

After all my research over the years, the Nixon family is my favorite lineage I'm most proud to be kin. They were kind, hard-working, and honest ancestors.
