I am wondering if anyone can identify the source for this information? I have always assumed that Leiba was the common name for Yehudah Leib Ziv, the son of Azriel Ziv, the first Rabbi of Kovno (the connection between Yehudah Leib and Azriel is based on Yehadut Lita and Toldot YaYehudim b'Kovno U'Slobadka. It is also confirmed in Likrat Ir Rasseyn u'baneha. ). Since there is no Yehuda Leib in the census I assume Leiba was his more common name. But this information here-- without any source material -- is interesting IF someone could provide a basis for where it comes from.....

I can't answer for whoever it was that created this profile, but I do have a great etc. grandfather - born c. 1760 earliest and latest 1820. His name was Leiba Kaplan-Ziv. Wonder if it's the same
