so it's definitely Creoda of Mercia.

Of course there was no colour printing in Speed's time. The maps were printed from engravings and then hand-painted, so no two came out looking quite the same, and some copies have faded more than others.

I detached the Creoda picture from Pybba; the next image in line came on up, and I’m not enormously happy with it, either, but I let it stand. For now.
