Wow! This information is amazing, i can't imagine a life back in 1695 and the conditions one must have faced.
But it is great to know i have a name for my 5th great grandfather.
Dear Christine: you are right in a terrbile way of that time: the years 1695-1697 are known as the terrible hunger/death years in Finland, 1/4 or 1/3 of the population died of hunger and hunger-induced diseases. Your 5th great grandfather has been a very lucky newborn to survive.
