I heard, several weeks ago, that Badatelna would be shut down. Now it appears that that has happened: the site has been unavailable for several days.
The records were supposed to be transferred to Vademecum. I do not know if they are all there or not. I have been able to find some but not others. I find Vademecum even more difficult to use than Badatelna. Whenever I find a book and bookmark the page, I find on my next visit that the bookmark does not work, and I have to find the book all over again from the beginning. At the moment, the following link seems to work to generate an index of all the record books, but I don't think that it is a complete list (e.g., I don't find Hroby in the index on the right): https://vademecum.nacr.cz/vademecum/BookVolume.action?browseAid=&am...
If anyone can offer guidance in the use of the site, it will be most welcome.
I had also not been able to access badatelna.eu for several days and do not know if it is shut down permanently.
Vademecum is more tricky to use and it seems that not all record books have been transferred yet, e.g. the familiant books - České gubernium - Knihy židovských familiantů (badatelna.eu fond 2098) is missing.

There have been several subsequent discussions in the (public) Czech Jewish Genealogy Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/353398325120768 If you have access to Facebook, search for "Vademecum" and you'll come up with some tips. It would be great if someone(s) could compile these tips and tricks for searching and append them to Martin's document; unfortunately, I haven't had time to do so.
Perhaps more concerning is the response that Randy Randy Schoenberg recently received from a contact at the Czech Archives indicating that some material accessible through Badatelna is not included in Vademecum. https://www.facebook.com/groups/353398325120768/posts/1210624549398...
This is presumably because the excluded material resided in some archive other than the primary national archive... [?] If this is the case, we may need to track down where the other materials reside and figure out how to get access to them. I'm not sure what the likelihood is of us convincing whomever maintained Badatelna to share the previously-digitized files wholesale, either with the Jewish Museum in Prague, or with JewishGen, or with the Museum of the Jewish People (formerly Beit Hatfusot), or with some other institution.that can host them and make them accessible once again. Alas, I have no idea how to mount such a campaign. The records that were not held by the National Archives (and are therefore not included in Vademecum) should still held by other Czech institutions and could, in theory, be reassembled/re-digitized piecemeal if worst comes to worst.
Does anyone have personal contacts within the organizational structure of the archives, and/or know in which institutions the relevant non-National Archives records reside?

It appears they have also added the "control" metrical books: https://vademecum.nacr.cz/vademecum/permalink?xid=cd507737e9672d2f1...
I am passing along a comment from Brian Blitz for those who are not following the Czech Jewish Genealogy Facebook group:
"I compared the contents of former Fond 241 and its Vademecum equivalent at the end of May 2021. The inventory numbers match up until item 70 (Citoliby). Where indicated, there is some new content. When items were moved across, those items which had a letter in badatelna (e.g., inv.c 458a) were put in sequential order. Some inventory numbers in vademecum are skipped. There are also a few items which were in badatelna and not in vademecum.
