The name Geril has crept in due to the handwriting and abbreviations used in the SAR application.

The application says he married Rebecca Lyon and there are other discrepancies.

Who can do a SAR look up? Is there a database? I know DAR's.

https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=71813870440 the merge with a Geril (General) happened several years ago. I think for now I will make the General/SAR guy a different profile and see where that leads.

But we still have two different sons named John under John Armstrong and Mary Kennedy

7/29/2021 at 9:59 AM

I disconnected Rebekah Armstrong from John Armstrong as there was a note and label on his profile (and hers) that she was NOT his wife but his daughter-in-law.
That means she should be a wife of his son. But FamilySearch has two different Johns as candidate for husband.
The profile already existing under John and Mary is John Armstrong who is married to Rebecca Armstrong so if this is correct, she cannot be her unless Mueller is a married name but that doesn't appear to be the case.
I added Capt. John S Armstrong, Sr, War of 1812 from the FS for her as spouse but now there are two sons named John and they cannot both be correct.
So my question is from WHERE did the info of a daughter-in-law named Rebecca Mueller/Miller come?

The FAG memorial https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/9285061/john-s-armstrong and wife https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/212864600/rebekah-armstrong shows no maiden name for Rebecca and no parents for either.

I would like to disconnect but need either family that is familiar and comfortable or a curator, please.
Need sources for the family

John Civil Armstrong was born 1808. We know he's NOT a son.

Stepping away from the Armstrongs and hoping a curator will consider working in the area and MP'ing some profiles.
The book mentioned in the profile saying Rebekah was NOT wife is
First Man
The Life of Neil A. Armstrong

and soon to be a movie: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/First-Man/James-R-Hansen/978...

Erica Howton, is this something that would be of interest to you especially in light of your project with Livio Scremin ?

@Cynthia I hope some (C) will help you protect the homonyms of all those great men.

PS. I saw 2018 "First Man": unfortunately some fictional space movies* have skyrocketed the entertainment power bar, to which I was not even able to archive it with the grade 5 that I reserve for films that bore a bit but at least have value of biopic / real useful stories.
Don't get me wrong if you have to watch a movie about him, that's right... certainly also good for the project ..just that even 1995"Apollo 13" I filed it with 6 ^^.
____________
*2013 Oblivion (my vote 9 already at the post-presentation title:)
*2014 Interstellar (8++ became 9 already at the second viewing, with honors every time it passes:)
*2015 The Martian (8:) [very nice truthful movie:]
*2016 Passengers (9:)

Livio Scremin it is ALWAYS disappointing when media is unable to convey the thrilling adventures and exciting life of true living breathing humans in history

I am a HUGE fan of Science and Science Fiction!
I lettered in Chemistry as a jr high student. Although I have no desire to GO to space, my husband and many brilliant people DO wish to and those who have gone have such a story to tell

Rebekah Miller (mueller) born 1776 is the wife John Armstrong born 1773. These are the son and daughter-in-law of John and Mary. John and Rebekah are the grandparents of Neil Armstrong. In the book “First Man” this is mentioned at the start. John also known as John John moved to Ohio with his brother Thomas and settled in Wapakinita Ohio. General John Armstrong is not related. John Armstrong of Greene County owned a mill at the mouth of the muddy crick. His brother in law William Crawford was a soldier and also settled in Greene County with his wife Alice.

Would have no idea how to do that. I am pretty confident in these finding. I have internet traced the Armstrong clan to Kinmont Willie of 16th century Scotland. He was a Notorious reliever of the debatable land. Was sentenced to be hanged but his clan forced the English to release him.Elizabeth I was very upset with Lord Scopes for setting him free. I live within the same area the John and Mary settled. My mother’s maiden name is Armstrong and my family is buried in the same ground. You should look at the heritage of Mary Kennedy John wife. Her father and our grandfather was married to an Native American of the Seneca tribe. So we are very American. David Kennedy Sr. Also owned and father a slave named Nasa McCurdy. HE lived in Greene County. His grandchildren have traced is life and is well represented on the internet. David son John was with Washington on his retreat from fort Duquesne and was wounded and captured by the French.
