People have repeatedly attached a photograph to John Babcock, who lived and died in the 17th Century.
In reality, the photograph is of Sir Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, Lord Lytton.
Here's the photo in question: https://www.npg.org.uk/collections/search/portrait/mw138248/Edward-...
Please do not reattach it to John Babcock. Thank you!
I also just moved an image that was said to be John Babcock's home; it was actually the home of his grandson Dr. Joshua Babcock, Major General, built long after John's death.
We seem to have a similar issue with John's wife Mary Babbitt's profile, where she somehow keeps being given this illustration -- one that is actually a 19th Century artist's depiction of Anne Vere, Lady Fairfax that was inspired by a 17th Century painting: https://www.npg.org.uk/collections/search/portrait/mw36074/Anne-ne-...
I'm not re-tagging that image to Lady Fairfax because it's not actually from her time period. It would be better to find the original painting.
