The obituary here seems wrong to me. It says James W Allen was born near Louisville, Kentucky 12 April 1813. This differs from the place and date on his Geni profile and also differs from his Find a Grave profile, same with his death dates. The obituary from 6 Nov 1890 says he died 28 Oct 1890, Geni profile says he died 27 Nov 1888, and Find a Grave death date is 27 Nov 1890. The wives listed in the obituary are different as well. In conclusion, it's the wrong obituary for our James W Allen.
