Judith Parnuit's parents are not known, and they do not appear in any reliable/reputable sources. The only sources claiming she is the daughter of a Nicholas Parrissot (1558–1638) and Marguerite Parrissot (1556–1623; neither of which I could prove to exist) are all user-generated websites like FamilySearch Trees, MyHeritage, WikiTree, Family Echo, etc. and they do not cite any sources. Furthermore, it would not make sense if her father was Nicholas Parrissot as her birth surname is Parnuit.
The sources all mentioning Parnuit have no record of her having any parents (and further confirm her maiden name):
*"Die Nels in Frankryk: nuwe inligting", (in Afrikaans) volume 3 of Famnea, published in Sep 2007, the quarterly journal of the Genealogical Society of South Africa.
*"Proceedings of the Huguenot Society of Great Britain and Ireland", published in 2007 by the Huguenot Society of Great Britain and Ireland. page 17.
*"Die Eerste Kaap Stamboom", published in March 2008 by Johana Nels and M. J. Bothma
As well as the website e-family.co.za, which often cites baptism and marriage records, but it is may not be entirely reliable for all info.
Agree we need sources.
However I have discovered a few gaps and mistakes in " Die Nels ' and ' Die Eerste Kaapse Stanboom ' where sources for individuals do exist yet they do not appear in these publications; then some argue they do not exist.
Not appearing in a compiled genealogical publication is not proof of not existting.
Similar with other surname Genealogical Publications from Mackenzie ,de Klerk to Roux just as examples.
Same with SAG Publications ; a lot of individuals wrong information or completely missing.
cf Nicholas Parrissot and Marguerite Parrissot
Cutting relationship, pending the provision of primary sources.
I found a primary source for Parnuit on FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9396-ZK68-F?i=231&w...). The first line of this marriage record between Guillaume Néel (or Nel) and Judith Gouye (Parnuit's daughter) states that Néel is married to "[…] Judith Gouye, daughter Esaye and of Judith Parnuit, of Rouen." I do not speak French so this is what I translated with Google Translate from what text I could recognise "Marriage 1660 April 18 of Pierre Neel, son of far Pierre and of Anne Mauger(?), living in Greenville(?) with Judith Gouye, daughter of Esaye and of Judith Parnuit, of Rouen."
If Parnuit was a Protestant there is a good chance we could find another record of her as the Church Records go all the way back to 1536.
