I see different ones elsewhere and wonder if anyone has sources, DNA, etc?
Thank you

A guy showing as private has added his Y-DNA to the line, so maybe he is the one to contact. Maybe he added his Y-DNA to the FTDNA Y-DNA project and has some additional information.

The only trees I see having the Thomas married to Elizabeth Holt with different parents have him not as Thoams II and son of William Hotl and Mary Brown. I have my tree connected the way it is here on Geni.

But, I haven't looked at these lines in years and don't have any conclusive documentation to sort out the conflicting information.

I don't show as an atDNA match under his DNA profile though. That's not conclusive indication of not being related, but I do happen to show up under many of my direct line here on Geni up to the 7th generation, which is all Geni is said to validate.

What I do see is that the Thomas Holt who was married to Elizabeth Brown is the son of William Holt and Mary Brown mentioned previously and I think here on Geni the two couples have gotten all mixed up.

Here is info from a document on the Coleman / Brown couple from Ancestry from this document: North America, Family Histories, 1500-2000

Name Thomas Coleman
Marriage 17 Apr 1727 Southold, L I
Spouse Elizabeth Brown
Father William Coleman
Mother Mary Match
Children Hannah Coleman

They were married in Long Island. Thomas Coleman who married Elizabeth Holt and all that Coleman family were in Virginia, not Long Island. That's about the most 'conclusive' evidence I've seen that there were two Thomas Colemans with wives named Elizabeth - one a Holt and one a Brown and they're definitely not the same people. Not even in the same geographical area.

Ancestry ThruLines only confirms common ancestors to the 5th grandparents, so this couple is out of that range for my ThruLines matches. The best I have for DNA evidence is that my ThruLines confirms through
Rebecca (Blankenship) Austin
BIRTH 1771 • Virginia, Colonial America

She's my 5th ggm, DNA confirmed in ThruLines:
related to 35 DNA matches through Rebecca (Blankenship) Austin

Now, her mother was Rachel (Coleman) Blankenship, which is why some time back I had posted that I didn't then and don't now believe that Elizabeth Brown was her mother.

While others call him Jr or II, THIS tree maker link shows no parents for him or for wife and is apparently some Saponi in the tree maker's line:

Wikitree has parents as Son of Thomas Coleman Sr. and Rebecca Ann (Claiborne) Coleman and the father is part of the https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/WikiTree-24 US Southern Colonies Project

I don't see any Colemans mentioned on the link

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/WikiTree-24

I'm familiar from many years back with the other link you sent.

My only interest is in making sure I have the correct parents for Rebecca (Coleman) Blankenship since that's my direct ancestor. Thomas Coleman seems to be a common name and the name of various ones from various states. I know my line is from Virginia. I wish Ancestry took ThruLines back another generation or two on the grandparents. I sitll think the guy who attached his Y-DNA is the best option for contacting someone regarding the male Coleman line, provided he has his Geni connecitons to the right line. I sometimes see profiles with conflicting Y-DNA attached, so it's also possible for someone to have a trre / DNA conflict.

The link is in HIS profile. This is the link for the Project.

Other than all the above, I don't work on as much in-depth research as I used to and really don't have the time to put into more about these lines at this time. I know I'm DNA solid thru Rebecca (Coleman) Blankenship and I've added to my tree that from her back needs better documentation. Either I will eventually work it on it more or leave it for Len to work on in years to come. I'm pretty tied up with non-genealogy stuff these days and only put time into the DNA matches in ThruLines for Len's future benefit. One day he'll have to pick up where I've left off.
