James Butler should have a Y RM269 DNA marker which would tie him to Virginia and Maryland Butlers from 1641. It should also connect him to Butlers in Roane County, TN. He apparently migrated west, lived in Knox Co TN, then Anderson where he died. Documents show a James Butler died in 1803 in Anderson, Co TN, leaving a widow named Elizabeth. He was a milia captain in Knox Co. He apparently had a son named James b 1775 in NC. They lived about where the Clinch River Plant is today. -Charles Butler
