Josiah Underwood was the eldest son. His father's will stated that he would only inherit the land (in Isle of Wight) if he stayed on it and farmed it.
Our information, until Geni, had been that his father was Sampson Underwood of Isle of Wight, Virginia, so I am still open to documentation.
