Hello, I am trying to find my half-sister's father. She shares 225 Cm DNA with Anja Rajalin. Can someone help me with finding a common ancestor between Anja Rajilin and Suoma Soronen?? Here are there profiles below. Thanks

Did we already establish that this is not the guy you are looking for?

her brother → Salomon Mikonpoika Mäntylä
his son → Maria Sofia Salomonintytär Korhonen
his daughter → Vilho Heikki Korhonen

Here is the path that leads from Suoma to Anja. No direct kinship is found. Anna Sofia and Aimo Vihtori Huusko connect, i.e. act as a link between two different families.

Thanks Heidi, I see where Huusko connects to Anja but trying to find where Huusko connects to Suoma??

Hi, Joseph.

I was just wondering, where does name/person Väinö Venho come from? Any sources? I mean, how do you know Suoma's father's name is Väinö Venho?

Väinö Venho

I'm not sure, if you've noticed, but Ida Tammelin changed her name from Tammelin to Venho in 1907.

''Me alla nimetyt otamme 12 p:vä t. k. itsellemme Suomalaiset nimet.''

Tammelin, Ida, Venho.

Thanks Pauliina, do you have any info on children of Ida Tammelin Venho? Or any info of the birth of Suoma in Finland so I can confirm things? Thank you.
Suoma Soronen

Looking for info on the birth of Suoma Soronen in Finland (1912) and both parents. Thanks.

Pauliina, my guess is that Ossian Joel Allenius is Suoma Soronen's father. He left Finland in late 1911 and Ida Venho (Tammelin) followed a few years later. Ida and Ossian married in 1917 in NY. Ida left Suoma with her mom Wilhelmina Tammelin and in 1923 Suoma came to New York.

Hi, Joseph.

If Suoma was born in Tammela or in Helsinki, I can't find original Church records for her birth.

Venho is a poetic form of the word "vene" = a boat.

In 1906 more than 40 000 people in Finland changed their names and that trend continued in 1907 and 1908. That was 100 years after philosopher and writer Johan Wilhelm Snellman was born.
