- Private User - - Having given my relation to Jeanne d'Arc, La Pucelle d'Orléans as my 8th cousin 16 times removed (& listing all my connections down from my father to her - has brought me sharp criticism - to which I have no answer other than the notes on her profile, her mother's profile, & on her maternal grandfather's profile - & the criticism continues - as with the questions below:

~ ~ Where is a contemporary, primary source which names the maternal grandparents of Joan of Arc? ~ ~ Also, the Dukes of Milan (before the Sforza) were named Visconti. Can your source(s) explain how either Milanese Dukes or Bavarian princesses came to have a roofer as a son/grandson?

Please help me with a response to these questions.

A court case in 1476, which was meant to establish that Collot de Perthes was the grandson of one of Jeanne's maternal uncles, provides the evidence that Jeanne was the cousin of his son, and had visited the family as La Pucelle.

I'm not clear on where the question about the Dukes of Milan comes from -- can you give me a link?
