We could perhaps improve the academic rigor of Anthony Emery, his supposed 1st unknown wife, and his wife Frances.

The current bio contains the throwaway speculation that Frances was a second wife and not the mother of Anthony's children. The circumstantial evidence offered for this proposition is weak--she is only mentioned in the period 1649-1660: "she is the only wife named for him, but she appears only in the period 1649-1660 and seems likely to have been a second (or perhaps later) wife and not the mother of his children.] she d. before 1649 probably at or near Dover, NH."

First, there is a problem with this quote, or perhaps with the transcription, saying Frances died before 1649. The profiles show the last mention of her was in 1660, not 1649.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, despite this assertion, Frances is mentioned as accompanying Anthony and his children at their immigration in 1635 (not 1035, as stated in his profile)--"Anthony Emery of Romsey Hants with Mrs. Frances Emery, James Emery, Rebecca Emery and William Kemp, servant to Anthony Emery."

If there is any evidence, even if only circumstantial, Anthony Emery had a wife before Frances, or that Frances was not the mother of the children who immigrated with them, it is not presented in any of the three profiles.

Nothing wrong with copying and pasting info from other websites, but perhaps we could have some critical thinking and analysis to go with it.
