I'm seeing this for the first time and there seems to be a big conflict with either the dates of her marriages or otherwise who she actually was married to. I have seen the documentation that she was marrried to Sven Svenson Bollman and they had 3 children, one of them being Nils Svensson my great-grandfather. I had no seen further information about a second marriage for her. Sven Svenson Bollman had another marriage prior to his with Kattarina Olsdotter. Where does Hotakka come from, out of curiosity as I've seen that elsewhere, but with neither of the parents. I'd appreciate if someone could clear that up. Thank you, Nancy Anderson

Hi Nancy,

Either there is an error, or Kattarina had quite a day marrying two men. I think it is an error.

The page for husband Henrik Olofsson Sikainen says he died in 1838. so he looks like a first husband. And, some of her children have the surname Sikainen.

The page for Kattar8hansays (in Swedish) that she emigrated to the U.S. in 1868 with Sven Svensson Boll. So he had apparently changd his surname from Svensson to Boll in Sweden, and then changed it again to Bollman when he immigrated.

FYI, I have high trust in Larry Eriksson, who began Kattarina's page, so I think he should have the last word.

Sven Bollman's page says he died in Stockholm, Minnesota. I grew up only 3 miles from there, in Cokato, and I knew quite a few Bollmans. I am good friends with, and a cousin of, John (jack) Peterson, a great-great-grandson of Kattarina. I got some information from Jack, given to him by a Swedish cousin. Unfortunately, Jack has only a hard copy, and is not on Geni. I think I became a manager of Kattarina's Geni page by adding some American information.

As for the Hotakksa (and Sikainens), the were "Forest Finns" who had come to Sweden from Finland, mostly in the 1600s. Often, they carried both there Swedish and Finnish names for several generations.

Nancy, I'd like to know your connection to Kattarina. The Nils Svensson page does not show an descendants. We can continue separately. My email address is DWL@LarsonGlobal.com. My Geni page is public.
