Bessie (Sklofsky) Goodman - Birth Surname

I looked at the Death Record of her daughter Gertrude at the Mass. Registry of Vital Records and Statistics on 9/30/2016 - it lists her mother's Maiden Name as Bessie Adelson.

The FamilySearch Tree that the SmartCopy Reference goes to shows her as Bessie Adelson
It says 10 sources for that name, if I am reading it correctly
It has Alternate Name -Also Known As - Bessie Sklofsky - 0 Sources

The Marriage Record for her daughter Gertrude - which has been included as a source on her Profile for a while now - has her maiden name as Bessie Adelson.

On the 1904 MA Marriage Record for Rose Goodman to Joseph Silverman - Rose's Father is Samuel Goodman, Mother's Maiden Name is Bessie Adelson

On the 1912 MA Marriage Record for Dora Goodman to Julius Miller, Dora's Father is Samuel, Dora's Mother's Maiden Name is Bessie Adlson [sic]

So that makes 4 records that I have seen so far where Bessie Goodman's Birth Surname is Adelson (or Adlson).

However, there is a1903 MA Death Record for "Bassie" Goodman, husband Samuel Goodman, apparently for this same Bessie Goodman - but it has father Nathan Sklofsky - Mother's Maiden Name Annie Adelson -- and so gives "Bassie" as m n Sklofsky

My own inclination is to believe either the informant for the Death Record was ill-informed or was shook by the death and mixed things up.

I was wondering how her mom could have the same maiden name too. I found these 3 immigration records. The spelling changed several times.

Bessie Goodman wife of Samuel died in 1903, so is definitely not the Bessie in those three records.

Is there a Profile on Geni for the Bessie in those three records? Have you found any other info on her or relatives, etc.?

Shall we change Nathan Sklofsky (Nathan Sklofsky) to Nathan Adelson and his wife to Birth Surname Sklofsky, Last Name Adelson?
And should Bessie Goodman's Birth Surname be Adelson?
Or??

I believe I have in fact occasionally seen a record where instead of a woman's birth surname, the record gave the birth surname of the woman's mother -- but not consistently like this.

Bessie's daughter Gertrude's marriage was in 1903, Rose's in 1904, Dora's in 1912, and Gertrude's death was in 1948. I would not expect the records for all of those to have that same error if it is an error.

No one else having commented, I am changing Bessie's Birth Surname to Adelson.
