William Emmanuel McElveen - Is it okay to move this ancestor over?

Adam McElveen had 3 sons:

William McIlvene 1745-1807 b. Williamsburg (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McIlveen-150 )
He had 2 brothers:

John McKnight McElveen 1755 -1815 b. Sumter https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McElveen-40

William M. McElveen b. 10 May 1757 Sumter d. 8 Apr 1827 https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McElveen-259

William Emanuel was William McIlveen's son, born in Williamsburg in https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McElveen-246

Is it okay to revise these records to include the brothers? we can compare our DNA connections to be sure we're under the right ancestor?
