I’d like to get a project going to cover local office holders in colonial America - not the governors and professional politicians, but local residents doing their civic duty, for a short time and / or a profession.
I’m having trouble coming up with reference material (links) and a good succinct project name that aligns with existing projects, such as
Colonial American Governors
Colonial American Ministers
Also, should we have some separate projects? If so, how is it broken out?
New England is easier, there was (still is) a town structure.

These men had charge of the day-to-day operations; selectmen were important in legislating policies central to a community's police force, highway supervisors, poundkeepers, field drivers, and other officials. …
Does that apply though through the mid Atlantic and Southern Colonies?
And, what’s a list of the offices that might be held before 1776, and how did they come to hold office?
Here’s about voting rights.
