Goswijn van Liedekerke

Obviously, one of these is wrong.

Why? Explain please.

This Goswin was born in 960, and has a wife named Marie de Rodes:

Goswin van Harlebeke

This Godwin was born in (1070-1130), and has a wife named Maria van Rhode:

Goswijn van Liedekerke

Goswin

They are two absolutely different persons. Rodes is not Rhode or Rode, ( nor Rodez or Rhodos). And Harelbeke is in Flanders (then under the French king, while Liedekerke is in Brabant, then under the German emperor.

So you're saying that you don't think it's a massive coincidence?

Of course not. Goswin (which means 'friend') was a very common name and there are hundreds of 'Rode's (which means 'cleared forest').
