Matilda Maynard Nelson b. 1832/d. 1912 (widow of Farmer Nelson b. 1825/d. 1862) was not ever named Matilda Queen. She was never married to Lewis Caleb Queen, but they did have intimate relations, because she gave birth to my great grandfather Ulysses Grant Nelson in March 1869, and later to his full sister Mary Nelson. Lewis Caleb Queen was a married man, having affairs with vulnerable women, just like his cousin Absalom Stephenson. I am requesting that her name be corrected to Matilda Maynard Nelson, which is the name she died under. She died from heart disease, but her daughter in law, my great grandmother Matilda Jane DALTON Nelson b. 1876/d. 1911, died from TB. These two women shared the same first name, but are two different women. One was the mother of Ulysses Nelson and the other was his wife. These persons are my mother's grandparents, and great grandparents. I am asking that your records be corrected to reflect the correct information. This information is documented. Thanks

Sandi Compton Mayo -- Thank you so much for your note and this helpful information. I have updated the profile for Matilda J. Nelson and changed the relationship between her and Lewis Caleb Queen to "partner" instead of "spouse."

I'll try to make some other updates for you now.

Private User Thank you. Are you directly related to Matilda as a descendant?
