Mvh,
Karin Granqvist

Nils Hall/Håll is on homestead no 16 for several years like 1699-1714 in the jordeböcker, f.ex. 1714 source: ArkivDigital: Länsräkenskaper 1631-1820: Västerbottens län (AC, BD) 90 (1714) Bild: 8350 Sida: 651

How sure is it that Nils Ersson Krus was the same as Nils Hall/Håll? And when did he change his name? Because there was a homestead namned Håll, that later on became homestead no 17 Håll in Svensbyn.

And who bought the homestead in 1709, and from who?

In my research records I have never seen Nils Ersson refered to as Nils Krus; only Nils Ersson or Nils Hall. In the Husförhör records from 1696-1704, his father Erick Jonsson and he are listed intermittenedly; the son is referred to as Nils Ersson some years and as Nils Hall other years; or even Nils Ersson Hall other years. In the Husförhör records for 1696-1699 they are listed at Svensbyn #14, #15, or #13. They are listed only at Svensbyn #16 from 1701 through 1719. In the Husförhör records from 1705-1711only Nils Ersson is listed. Here again he is listed some years as Nils Ersson, Nils Hall, or Nils Ersson Hall. In the Husförhör records for 1712-1719 he is listed as Nils Ersson Hall in 1712 and in 1713 as Nils Ersson. In 1714 at Svensbyn #16 is listed Karin, Nils Hall's wife. At that same farm in 1715 is listed Karin Nils Ersson's wife. In 1717-1719 is listed their son, Jon Nilsson, at Svensbyn #16.

I realize that I also need to mention my research records from the Husförhör of 1720-1725 for Svensbyn #16. In 1720 Nils Hall is listed at the farm. In 1720 Per Nilsson is listed. In 1721 and 1722 Anders Nilsson is listed. In 1723 Nils Hall is listed along with Karin Jonsdotter, the wife of Anders Nilsson. In 1724 only Karin Jonsdotter is listed. In 1725 only piga Marta Ericksdotter is listed.

There are three Nils Eriksson/Erssons, that is the issue.

As I understand it, after a couple of e-mails, I just gotten. The man in this profile is NOT Kruse at all, instead Nils Eriksson, Nils Ersson or Nils Hall.

This Nils Ersson (Hall) was married to Karin Pehrsdotter from Piteå town which corresponds to the information you have about "Karin, Nils Hall's wife". They got married 1691-03-15.

Their kids were:

* Erik f 1692-03-07 i Svensbyn, d 1694-01-13 (far soldat/soldier Nils Eriksson och mor Karin Pehrsdotter). Here can it have been a misunderstanding, since Nils actually was a soldier but never used his soldier name as a last name.

* Pehr f 1694-05-06 i Svensbyn (far Nils Eriksson och mor Karin Pehrsdotter)

* Karin f 1695-09-13 i Svensbyn (far Nils Eriksson och mor Karin Pehrsdotter)

* Jon f 1699-01-20 i Svensbyn (far Nils Eriksson och mor Karin)

* Anders f 1700-09-19 i Svensbyn (far Nils Eriksson och mor Karin)

* Pehr f 1702-09-19 i Svensbyn (far Nils Eriksson och mor Karin)

* Marta f 1706-09-20 i Svensbyn (far Nils Krus och mor Karin). The last kid with father "Nils Krus" might have been a mix up with the 'real' Nils Krus in Svensbyn. And that Nils got later a daughter named Märta/Marta.

Nils Krus was married to Elin/Elsa, and the other Nils Ersson was married to Margeta/Märet.

I think that just crossing out "Krus" will do the trick.

And about Svensbyn, homestead numbers have change due to splitting up of homesteads along order in jordeböcker.

But he is not soldier Nils Krus since Nils Krus as a father in birth books is another man.

IF Nils Hall was a soldier, he is still not Nils Krus.

The information about a homestead purchase can be erased. And my additional information on soldier Nils Ersson Krus(e) since this is Nils Hall.

But then the information about birth and death is wrong. That information seems to belong to Nils Ersson Krus with father Erik Nilsson.

A child was born 1669-04-25 to Erich Joensson in Svensbyn, source: ArkivDigital: Piteå landsförsamling (BD) CI:1 (1658-1713) Bild: 11 Sida: 11

And he shall than resemblance Nils Hall.

Sorry, the birth information is correct, but the death is wrong.

And the information about the homestead purchase seems wrong as well as he took over his father's homestead.

Maybe court rolls can give more information, but they are very time consuming to go through.

And thanks to Bo Sidén that helped me out 'in the background'. We share several profiles to people in Svensbyn, like the third Nils that is named Johansson, not Eriksson. So there were two Nils Ersson, but another soldier Nils Johansson in Svensbyn at the same time.
