Hi again,
If you have not contacted the Internation Tracing Service, please do so. I was able to get photos of my grandparents and uncle from an ID card used in the Ghetto. There are also forms with family photos on them which I also received from the tracing service.

Henry,

Many of my paternal family members were in the Krakow Ghetto, there are a couple of sites that one can get their documents /registrations and ID cards with their photos.

The first is the https://www.ushmm.org/ which archives many registrations and ID cards (they are xerox copies) and the polish archives at www.cbj.jhi.pl

Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for the wonderful link to the Polish archives. The images are a lot better than the ones I have. A great tool for finding documents from Poland.
Are you aware of Dan Hirschberg's genealogy research in Krakow. He put together many family trees from Krakow residence. The link is below.

https://ics.uci.edu/~dan/genealogy/Krakow/family.html

Go to the drop-down arrow and find your surname, then click on your family name. Then click get tree. I found my family going back to the 1700s in Krakow. Amazing !

Shabbat shalom Henry,

Yes the images are much better then the xerox copies. I have been in the past on the Dan Hirschbergs family trees from Krakow, I also have spent a year researching weddings, births and deaths on the site (which I dont remember off hand) but have found that most of the records I researched are now resident in the https://www.jri-poland.org/blog/krakow-jewish-community-marriage-an....

Its so sad that it has taken so many year to have access.

My family were mainly in Bytom (my dad's birth place, Zywiec, Katowice and Bielsko and Teschen (Cz) and Krakow. They were living in Silesia for quite some time and yes I have their names listed going back to the 1700s.

shabbat shalom and let us pray for shalom in eretz yisrael.

Hi Suzanne,
Do know the method to save images from the cbj website? Also, do you know if anybody in our group has family who were in the freedom fighters' group in Krakow and if there is any Schindler Jews in the group? My father worked in the Schindler's factory but did not get on the Schindler's list. He was sent to Mauthausen in August of 1944.
