According to the Ancestry tree of a descendant who is a DNA match to me, this Joel Henry Phillips who was married to Mary Bentley has parents different than the ones connected here on Geni, and I have no idea which set of parents are correct:

DIFFERENT PARENTS:

Elijah Phillips
B:Abt. 1782 North Carolina, USA

Mother:
Lucy
B:abt 1790 North Carolina, USA

I put these notes into the About section. There were no existing notes there to help clarify who his parents were.

1850 census for Hallocox, Muscogee Georgia shows Elijah and Lucy, with son Joel who is about 20something years old.

Exactly, that census shows parents as Elijah and Lucy, not as William Martin Phillips and Mary "Polly" Phillips (Hatcher) as connected here on Geni

I cannot remove or replace parents for a few profiles im working on on this app for some reason.. if you can edit this one id appreciate it

Dakota, I was able to disconnect William Martin Phillips and Mary Hatcher as the parents, so that's done. Nothing was locked. You 'should' be able to now just add the correct parents if they don't already have existing Geni profiles you can connect Joel to.
