There isn't much else I've been able to find.
Private User Thanks. I have looked at that tree on geneanet and didn't see any sources there. Are you able to contact the person who made that tree and ask them where they got the information connecting these two persons? What I hope is that the connection isn't the result of someone's conjecture based solely on the surnames and dates. In the absence of any further source evidence I would urge you to consider this a connection of very low certainty.
There are so many problems is this speculation... it's just wrong. Velvel was both in 1798. In this scenario his mother was born 10 years after him. His father would have been 17. The parents of Issac are also wrong. His wife would be 27 years old than her spouse. That would not be the case. This Amsterdam line needs to be totally looked at. If we want to try to see if we were attached to Amsterdam it shouldn't be too hard. We need to look at the males only since Velvel or what I think to be his father Movsha have the name Zacuto already in Svislach. We would need a male Amsterdam Zacuto to have a marriage date between 1788 - 1789 for Velvel or between 1751 - 1761 for Movsha if he in fact exists.
I have actually just done the research right now. Sorry, I don't believe it's possible for the Svislach family to be connected to the Amsterdam family. I think it's more likely we came from the Levant area. The story says that Abraham ben Samuel Zacuto died in Syria. 6% of my DNA shows me living in that area. I believe we came from that area to Belarus sometime between 1516 - 1788. Here's why, I went back to my book of Ketubbah's from Amsterdam to get the Male Sacutto's marriage date. These are the marriages of the Amsterdam Male Sacutto's that would fit in line with either Movsha or Velvel's possible birth giving the birth a 11 year window after their marriage.
Marriage date:
1765 Isaac Sacutto
1773 Isaac Sacutto
1774 Elizer Sacutto
1776 Jacob Sacutto
Now Isaac Sacutto who's marriage in 1765 to Rachel Lopez Garcia is in the range of being Velvel's Grandparents but it does not show them having any kids in Amsterdam, it is possible that they came to Svislach but there are no records prior to 1795.
So we only have one option to see if the Y DNA matches anyone of the brothers of Eliezer Zacuto that came from the Amsterdam line.
There's a tree at Ancestry com that names him Isaac Kopel Sacutto. I haven't tried tracking down documents or contacting anyone to ask about it yet. If I see a second source come along I'll try to contact both of them. On many trees that I'm not connected directly too I also see that this Isaac seems to have a son Movshe so there's another conundrum. If his father had died before the baby was born he would name him Moshe or Movshe but not if he was still alive. (Of course that's one custom that not everyone follows so maybe he was simply named after his dad's dad...)
