I can't read the birth record ( https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/9701/48 ) very well, but I can't find the actual birth date in it. Where does the birth date in this profile come from?

Additionally, the confirmation record and marriage record both cite 14th August 1818 as an important date of something. What is that?

Hans Locher is baptised June 26th 1814 as shown at child no. 1 on the page before. Just after his name it is written "4 ug." which is short for "4 uger", translated to english: "4 weeks" which is his age at baptizm.

At his confirmation the date August 14th 1818 shows when he was vaccinated for smallpox. I am not able to see this date mentioned at his wedding which you can find here, no. 35: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070606660221 His wedding date is October 16th 1836 in Tromsø. April 30th 1836 is his engagementdate.

Thank you for the explanation Remi. It's very clear now.

The 1818 smallpox vaccination is a very interesting detail. I am descended from his second spouse, and that date is also on the 1856 marriage records.
