In 1855, Atyim Giorgiu married his compatriot Elisabeta Gulieșu (Gulyas in Hungarian), a young Romanian woman of the Greek-Catholic religion from the village of Ciumești.
The religious wedding took place on February 26, 1855.
Atyim Giorgiu was 22 years old, and Elisabeta was 18 years old.
