How was the information on Thomas Parris validated? I see no record validating the marriage to Abigail nor is there any death in the St. Michael Parish ( where Thomas and his family lived) of any Abigail....Son Samuel was not the firstborn male of Thomas & Catherine Parris... he was the second. The first son one Rev John Parris who married Ann Gaule and held vicarship (not the Sr. Rev but a Vicar - the two are different from one another) in Ugborough, Devon, England.
In his will:
Thomas mentions he wishes to be buried beside his late deceased wife, on the plantation where he then lived. This was NOT the plantation he left to son Samuel.... that was a rental property Thomas had in St. James.
Thomas leaves land in England and Ireland to eldest son John, his wife Ann and her children....Thomas, Ann, Elizabeth and A(lexander) which names also coincide with John's own siblings by the same names. Rev John, in Thomas' will, is referred to as "eldest son John Parris in England & Ann Parris his wife & her children"..........To son Samuel Parris xtr (executor) Thomas left the plantation presently being occupied by Capt Edward Elding in St. James and appointed friends Martin Bently, Esq...Capt William Robinson & Richard Clark as Executors-in-Trust during the minority of son Samuel
Thomas then signed his will which was witnessed by Nathaniel Kingsland and Samuel Goodwyn on 21 Aug 1673.
The Will was Proved on 02 Sept 1673 meaning it was deemed valid and legitimized by a Court in Barbados. It does not indicate Thomas Parris' death.
The only record of Thomas Parris' death was found in the St. Michael Parish Registry of Vital Records on 17 April 1678 - the day Thomas Parris was buried...indicating he actually died on 14/15/16 April 1678
Thomas also mentions his brother-in-law John Openbridg and his wife Susannah Openbridg and several friends
Samuel Parris did not leave Harvard upon graduation to run his inherited estate.... Samuel Parris QUIT Harvard and returned to Barbados for lack of choice and funds... there he became a credit merchant...not an honest trade, but a lucrative one
Children of Thomas: Martyn, Ann, Owen, & Edward are not validated, nor are they mentioned in the Will of Thomas Parris, Esq.
So again, I must ask, how was the information in this profile validated?
