Any help on the above would be much appreciated. I have been onto two of my family profiles, to find that a person has appeared on them as profile manager. How would this come about.??
Furthermore, the work that I have searched and sourced on one particular profile was deleted and some of what I had written in the 'Bio' was partially retyped for some unknown reason, by this person.
I find this inappropriate behaviour. A courtesy message to a PM would be more appropriate from anyone requesting to be added as a profile manager on certain profiles.

How does one request to remove a person from being a profile manager?

You can report inappropriate behavior to misconduct@geni.com .

You can sometimes remove a profile manager as follows: Click on Actions, click on Management Options, you will see a panel with "Managed by:" and a list of users, some of whom will have an "x" that you can click to remove them.

Many thanks Dimitri. I’m most grateful.

The three main ways a person gets added as a manager of a Profile:
1)Two versions of a profile are merged - all managers of each become managers of the resuling merged version
2) folks can add themselves as a manager to any profile in their Max Family that is not a geni-user
3) if a manager is inactive and someone clicks to report it, Geni will add an active relative of that manager (if it can find one) as another manager

A user can also be added when a manager of a profile closes his/her account.
Geni will try to find another manager from the family group of that user to add that new manager to the private profiles of that manager.

If you are in the family group of a user that closes his/her account you can inherit management of a lot of profiles. You can control that with the setting https://www.geni.com/account_settings/managed_profiles
