The Ocean Steam Navigation Company (German as "Oceanic Steam Navigation Company"), short OSNC or brake line called, was a 1847 in New York with U.S. American and German capital based shipping company , with the steamer Washington , the first regular steam service between the United States and mainland Europe set up. Sie wurde 1857 aufgelöst und gilt als Wegbereiter des Norddeutschen Lloyd . It was disbanded in 1857 and is a pioneer of the North German Lloyd .

This is the Father ( Gustav Conrad Kulenkamp) in Bremen, of our originating 'Father' - George Schmidt, also known as Andreas George Kulenkamp here in Australia. For reasons not known to myself, he was sent out to Australia, and assumed the name of George Andrew Schmidt. His death certificate lists his name as being also known as George Andrew Kulenkamp Schmidt- buried at Ballaarat East Victoria, Australia. Victorian Death Certifcate No 5534.
