Thought you may find some interest in this....it was written by John A. Biles, a friend and distant cousin of my grandfather, George Dewey Emery b. 1898.
On the bottom on page 2 there is an interesting story about John dining with Hannah Emery Higley, regarding our Jacob b. 1759.
It seems to say that he and 2 other brothers came over from England...one died. This could be the confusion I have run into when researching John Emery b.1598 (the first Emery in America). Some people talk about a brother dying on the voyage....but the exciting thing is that it could be that our Jacob came on a ship from England!
I will continue research and have a professional genealogist researching....I'll keep you posted, but this is an interesting hint to say the least!!
I have attached the story. It is in a PDF format.
