"Our teacher R. Yehezkel Segal was the head of the rabbinical tribune in the community of Unsdorf [=Huncovce] and the community of Trencin)" (ibid).

"Born in the year 5524 [=1764] in the town of Mikulas and his son [Aharon Joseph Samuel] said that his father was a descendant of the "Shlah" [Yeshaya'hu HaLevi Horowitz: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaiah_Horowitz]" (Intorduction, p. 2. n. 2). Died on the 1st day of of the month of Iyar 5599 [=1839. Should be 1838] (ibid, p. 4).

Became the Chief Rabbi of Huncovce in 1818 (ibid. p. 3). "In the year of c.1824 he became the Rabbi of Trencin ... where he served as Rabbi for 15 years" (ibid, p. 3). "He could not delve in Torah studies as much as he wanted in Trencin, because ... [he became ill] and couldn't move without aid. This illness did not leave him until the day of his death" (ibid, p. 4).
