About Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Shapira, A.B.D. Jerusalem
R' Haim Jacob Shapiro A.B.D Jerusalem for twenty years. He was born in 1832 in Ilya.
He settled in Israel in 1892, and married Esther Liba, thedaughter of Benzion Zak of Kovno
(See Chapter 111 for their issue, being Katzenellenbogen descendants).

Came to Israel with his wife, and granddaughter Gitel, (daughter of Rabbi David Shapira. sister of Tziporah Chana (who married Rabbi Aryeh Levin)
He was a Rabbi in Kovno, when he left his son Rabbi David Shapira became Rabbi.
Buried on Har Haziesim. His tombstone traces his lineage back to his father and grandfather.
