Robert de Vere, 6th Earl of Oxford (c. 24 June 1257 - 17 April 1331) was the son and heir of Robert de Vere, 5th Earl of Oxford , by his wife Alice de Sanford. Robert the younger took part in several of the military campaigns of Edward I , Edward II and Edward III in Wales , Scotland and France . His coat of arms appears in the 1298 Falkirk Roll at the Battle of Falkirk . He was married to Margaret Mortimer, daughter of Roger Mortimer, 1st Baron Wigmore . He also officiated at the Coronation of Queen Isabella , wife of Edward II, in 1308. His only son Thomas died before him, and when Robert died in 1331, he was succeeded by his nephew John de Vere, 7th Earl of Oxford .

Son and heir to Sir Robert de Vere and Alice de Sanford, grandson of Sir Hugh De Vere and Hawise de Quincy, Gilbert de Sanford and Loretta la Zouche.

Husband of Margaret de Mortimer, daughter of Sir Roger de Mortimer and Maud de Brewes. They had one son, Sir Thomas.

Sir Robert served in Gascony in 1296, summoned to the Assembly of Peers 24 Feb 1297 at Salisbury. Sir Robert and his mother were invited to the wedding of Princess Elizabeth to the Count of Holand 07 Jan 1297 at Ipswich. During the King Edward I's absence in Flanders, Robert was a member of the Prince Edward's council. Sir Robert served with the 4th division at the Battle of Falkirk July 1298, served overseas 1299 to 1301, and summoned to the Coronation of King Edward II 25 Feb 1307. At the coronation of Queen Philippe, Robert claimed to right to officiate as her Chamberlain, and his claim was allowed, but he was trying to recover the office of Chamberlain of England, the claim still pending at this death.
