Hon. Daines Barrington was born in 1727. He was the son of John Barrington, 1st Viscount Barrington of Ardglass and Anne Daines.1 He died in 1800.

Hon. Daines Barrington was an antiquary, lawyer and naturalist.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
