"Sir Michael Hugh Shaw-Stewart, Baronet [S. 1667], of Greenock, 1st s. and h., b. 11 July 1854, in Belgrave square ; ed. at Eton; matric. at Oxford (Ch. Ch.), 23 May 1872, aged 17; sometime Capt. 4th Batt. Sutherland and Argyll Highlanders; M.P. for East Renfrewshire since 1886. He m. 14 Nov. 1883, at St. Geo. Han. sq., Alice Emma, 1st da. of John Alexander (Thynne), 4th Marquess of Bath, by Frances Isabella Catherine, da. of Thomas (Vesey), 2d Viscount de Vesci [I.]. She was b. 27 Jan. 1864."
